Can't Believe It !!!

OK I didn't call my mom - my hubby was calling for me after I finished the post - the oven was on fire.  I thought "yeah right" so I went into the kitchen & guess what?  The oven WAS on fire.  I looked at it, and asked him where was the salt, I grabbed the container and tossed salt on the fire until it was out.  My hubby really didn't know what to do.  I was afraid that the element would short out (the fire was at the rear of the oven near where the element plugs in) but it seems to be OK.
An hour before this my hubby had called me - the drain by the washer & dryer was backing up.  Then he admitted he used this liquid detergent and thought he might have used too much.  He wasn't wearing his glasses so just poured in some on the towels he was washing.  It wasn't liquid detergent - it was Spray & Wash that had a gel consistancy.   He bought it and couldn't use it in the spray bottle and forgot what it was.
Last week our new car was delivered & I asked him if he was trying to ruin the house so we would buy a new one - he just laughed, said he wanted me to see the fire.
I'll call my mom tomorrow & tell her all the good news :)

April Fools Day memories

Today is April Fools Day (my hubby says I have a total grasp of the obvious) and it reminds me of times past.
My mom has had great fun fooling others on Aprils Fools Day.  I remember when I was 5 or 6 she woke the family and said the rabbit had babies.  We all rushed after her into the kitchen looking for the baby rabbits.  There weren't any of course - finally we realized we were April Fools.
My mom has done other things each year - convincing far away relatives that a young cousin was pregnant,  Facebooking her friends that she started smoking again and more.  I try, but I can't help but laugh when I try to Fool my mom.  She's never fooled.
I'll try once more.  My hubby and I bought a new car that was delivered last wednesday.  It's a Camry Hybrid and I'm going to try to tell her it broke down on us (calling her from the cell phone).  Wish me luck.  (I know it sounds cruel - but she'll have a big laugh - or disown me)

Mid March already!!

I can't believe it's March 16th already!!  I have two brothers who have birthdays in March and we celebrated them already!  It will be May before you know it.  I've been busy - but not sure doing what.  My mom said that it seemed like it was Christmas just last week and I had to agree.
My husband and I are buying a new car - a Toyota Camry Hybrid.  We'll be picking it up around the end of the month.  My sister and I had to clean up in the garage so that the new car would fit.  My ford focus is a little smaller than the Camry and I had boxes around it.  So several boxes were donated and other stuff was thrown away.  Spring cleaning!

new year ahead

I can't believe it's 2012 already & January is almost over.  Christmas was great!  We saw all the kids and grandkids and had dinner with my parents.  What a wonderful time it was to get together and enjoy each others company.
I made the kids doilies (2 each - 10 total) and I have a few more to starch and give away :)  I wish I had taken photos of them, but I forgot.  I went to my sons home and noticed a doiley hanging on a wall in the front room,  it looked so lovely!  I need to hang a few in my home.
I have a habit of making things and giving them all away and not making one for me!  Then my hubby asks what crafts have you made and I can't show him *laugh*
I hope everyone has a wonderful 2012.  I'll try to blog more often - but no promises!

Back from Vacation!

We made it back from vacation.  It turned out very nice.  We went to see my hubbies sister who lives in Oceana CA  The weather was beautiful and we enjoyed each others company.  My hubby loves to cook and we took some of his favorite new recipes and he made them.  We spent time with Charlenes children & grand children also.  I crocheted flowers and went craft shopping (whoohoo)  It was great to go and seemed like the time rushed by too quickly.  It's good to be home but I miss my sister-in-law - she's a real sweetheart and great to be around.  I wish we lived closer together.
